we interrupt this broadcast for an important weather update...

it snowed this morning in lubbock, tx. i drove my motorcycle in it. of course it didn't start doing so until as i was leaving.this implies that i fixed my bike. i just had to replace the battery. turns out the one that was previously in it was the completely wrong battery anyway. no wonder it didn't work so great.in other news... i got to the building this morning, only to find that my computer was mysteriously not at my desk. we still don't know what happened. welp, there goes computer number 4 for me. at least this one was given to me for free.as a result, i have gotten nothing done today. i am currently on the computer that belongs in the podium for powerpoint. it doesn't want to work for me very much. today has been one of those monday-like tuesdays.oh well. whatcha gonna do. at least it snowed today. this makes me happy. life goes on.be happy! it's christmas time!!!(J|L)

did ya get that memo?yeah, so it was 21° this morning with a wind chill of 13° and my motorcycle decided it was too cold to start. maybe that was just it's way of telling me i'm a lunatic for riding to work when it's 21°. too bad it doesn't realize it's my only mode of transportation whenever amber has the car. good thing i only live 2.5 miles from the office and i have a really cool boss who doesn't mind coming to pick me up.anyone know how to fix that problem? (besides getting a car of course)i didn't quit. i'm just not gonna go.(J|L)

Good stuff

Good thing number 1: I bought gas two days ago for $1.72/gal. It has since gone down to 1.69. This is awesome.Good thing number 2: We're leaving Tuesday to come home for Thanksgiving. Yay for seeing family!Good thing number 3: Tomorrow is my birthday. I will be 22. The high is (according to the weather channel) 49° and the low is 23°. I'm pretty sure it has never before in my life been that cold on my birthday. This makes me happy. Also... being 22, I think I will now feel like I am old enough to get married. Marriage is a good thing, too.JL

what i meant was...

i'm more sickened than scared or worried. i'm not actually scared or worried. i knew i was going to get comments like that. i just didn't know how else to put how i was feeling at the time. i know God's in control.it was just sickening to me to think how likely the possibility is that in the next four years homosexuals will be granted the right to marry by the federal government, even more babies will be killed than before, and our economy will continue to crumble because of the big government (set up by both parties) that proposes to pay for... well... everything.i don't want to live in a socialist country. i don't want my tax dollars going to pay for homosexuals to have equal benefits, mothers to kill their children, and high school students to get free condoms and birth control.sorry. but this sickens me.don't anyone mistake me to mean that i don't trust in God. His will will indeed be done. but sometimes His will is to bring low nations that turn against him. will we all be...

I VOTED TODAY

It was the first time in my life that I have voted. I missed the last presidential election by less than a month. Since then I have never lived in Texas during an election. So, needless to say, it was quite gratifying to finally be able to have my say.It was random, too, because I had just gone to the bank (which is in a grocery store) to deposit some checks, and lo and behold it was an early-voting center. So I said to myself, "I'm here... might as well!"I voted Libertarian... except for the last 4 or 5 spots for which there was only one candidate running, all of which were republican. I think you could call that one-sided. I voted for those anyway. That's my story for today.Peace.JL

I'm Substituting

It's been a really long time since i've posted so i guess i'll update.Things are going pretty good with the work, but Amber still hasn't found a job so here i find myself sitting in a high school classroom subbing. Amber's subbing, too, but still... you gotta do whatcha gotta do to make ends meet. She has an interview today for a full-time position, so we'll see. We've been praying. Please do the same. It's kinda nice cuz i can work from here. I've already written one article for the bulletin this morning. Hopefully I can get another one done before the day is over.Family is all ok from the hurricane. It's good to know that the Lord watches over those who are his.Hmmm... what else? I got a motorcycle a while back. Took a safety course and have been riding it for a couple weeks now. It's a lot of fun. Not gonna lie. But a big reason i got it was the financial factor. It was the justifier i guess. I can go a whole month on a $14 tank of gas. Insurance is only $33/month too. Plus A...
