viarostultegaLet's see...I've done number 154, but not 155. It would be bad if instead of going from a phase to neutral on a 240/415, I went from phase to phase. Ouch!
spimmanI have done 154 and 155 on a 9V battery as a kid, quite strange on the taste side.
viarostultegaThe ouch is, of course, me dying.
larryOr you could be zapped by a spark plug and get several thousand volts! As long as there's not much current you're in good shape!
adamandjessesdadHaha! I've done number 155 with a nine-volt battery.
jocI will have to tell Artie to read this.
adampualme too
anothermattme too
never_trust_a_gnome2yeah, 155 is what I do in my leisure time. I will forgive you this time for not adding me to your enourmously huge, long, big, overwhelming friend list. I am a forgiving guy, what can I say.
wilburI have seen people taste it.
cmvermontme too
viarostultegayes, usually
cmvermontLOL i love how 154 attaches the practice to manliness! "Some men can endure the electric shock that results without discomfort whereas others cannot"
holly_hWow, I hate getting shocked!...no amount of money could make me do that...
markrobertseverybody knows you can lick a 9v battery to see if it dead ... you'll know if it isn't!
rainout"...burning sensation results, which will never be forgotten after one has experienced it" ? thanks but i'd rather have something else as an "unforgettable" experience!
kailuaSpeaking of #154 - I remember being 6 years old. That would have made two of my older brothers 9(Moe) and 10(Jamie) years old. I walked into a room to find them bent over an outlet, screw drivers in hand. I watched as Moe hurried into another room to get to the back side of said outlet. Jamie yelled,"Okay!" At which time Moe proceeded to connect some wires. Next thing I know, (and I can't even type I am laughing so hard) Jamie's eyes got real big. His mouth opened He shook and with jolt was sent across the room landing on his backside! With a wiff of ozone still in the air Moe came back into the room and asked, "Did it work?" My father having heard the ruckus yelled up through the ceiling, "What the h@ll is going on up there?!?!" We were all very quiet for hours in hopes he would not pursue an answer to his query. In reference to #155 we used to stick our tongues on 9-V's. Having three older brothers, this soon became a daring game among them to see who could stand doing it the most. Ahhhh yes, the joys of testosterone poisoning.
christineyaaay for one month! I got yalls invitation in the mail the other day! :)
ashleyi've licked a battery before! for some reason i think you were there when we did it and we were at lindsey's house. just a guess.
caseymp3I've done both in there respective voltage ranges... the worst is cutting through the hot and common at the same time with a pair of metal cutters and then not thinking and grabing the metal cutters on the other side to pull... it was supposed to be off.
lindseyYes we did lick batteries at my house! Oh that was random and fun.
diannesIf the voltage is higher, stick a cat's nose, to it.
viarostultegaNo doubt :D And it's GOOD!
muldoon202thanks man!
holly_hThis was a first for me. I'm pretty sure all it did was make me cranky. ;-)

If I was a flower growing wild and free... 11-26-08 09:31am CST
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and greeen
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

All I want is you, will you be my bride
Take me by the hand and stand by my side
All I want is you, will you stay with me?
Hold me in your arms and sway me like the sea.

i like that song.

i love her.

laughing_eyesHAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
cowboyrobhopefully Tech and OU loose
maucknotTHIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! Somebody remove Missouri from the Big 12 Championship Game and let OU and Texas fight it out. Texas got cheated--it's that simple.
maucknotYeah, most of the time, these kinds of injustices don't happen, but the cards certainly fell against Texas this year.
ninaCute picture of you two!
maucknotWhat that says is: the SEC rocks!!
terrayay for the juno soundtrack!

littlebitty624lol!
dwatkins"Collaborate and Listen" doesn't fit as well at the bottom of the sign.
dwatkinsAnd for those of you who can handle it:

(The word "poop" is the most offensive part of the site)
melissakaemaybe when we have dinner together we can make it a "brinner". It's easy and money friendly... :-D
adamandjessesdadThere's a Stop Hammertime Firefox addon.
juliewhohas your username been adampual all this time?
juliewhoi have never ever noticed that. until today.
viarostultegaThis goes along with your posts on how misinformed folks are. I know they exist on both sides of the aisle, but goodness.

windham4lifelol...that is so funny!
windham4lifewow!!!
preacherdavetxtrue. true.
tgatzajrI forgot you were in the Choir! How's that going these days?
viarostultegaI couldn't agree with you more. Had he gotten the nomination for the Republicans, depending on how the rest of his campaign went and such, I could have definitely considered voting for him. He seems to be one of the only politicians that truly understands what needs to happen to solve these problems.
adamandjessesdadI thought so, too, and then I read the page linked as ... or not
markrobertsYES, THERE WILL BE A WINTER SINGING - JAN 23, 2009
tnerbydoomI was just continuing Matt's list of what it is like to feel a certain age.

laughing_eyesthe BEST commercials on tv - have you seen the marketing one?
spimmanAre Mac's more secure or do people just not take the time to write viruses for them because they wouldn't cause as much havoc?
adamandjessesdadI think some people must not have understood the humor here.
bahoh no....i didn't know this...
markrobertsdoes this mean the annoying "I'm so cool" Mac guy will quit harassing the Windows nerd in those commercials?
ladyinwaitingboo
brandontherunningmanhahahah
bossmayfieldI heard the virus came from to many Apples.
meaganNo, it hasn't been made into a movie. It's Stephenie Meyer's sci-fi book after Twilight was semi-completed.
nickomundoI'm always open to a new burrito. But it will have to be pretty stinkin' amazing to take Chipotle's place.

2 dead in argument over Ala.-LSU football game 11-10-08 10:28am CST
EVERGREEN, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say an argument over Saturday's Alabama-LSU football game led to the shooting deaths of a couple at a home in southern Alabama.

Prosecutors identified the victims as Dennis and Donna Smith of Brewton. The shooting happened about 7 p.m. Saturday at the home of Michael Williams in the rural community of Owassa.

Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

Investigators told the Press-Register newspaper in Mobile that Dennis Smith, an LSU fan, called Williams, an Alabama fan, after Alabama's 27-21 overtime win and an argument ensued.

The Smiths went to Williams' home. Investigators said Smith had a pistol and Williams had a shotgun and fired. Donna Smith was a relative of Williams' girlfriend.

what in the world, people!?? i was pretty ticked at Texas Tech last weekend but i didn't call up the first Red Raider i could think of and drive to his house with a gun.

maybe it's just an SEC thing. more likely, it's an alcohol thing, but the article didn't mention the blood alcohol contents of the parties involved.

we worry about bailouts and republocrats when Americans in the "Bible Belt" are killing each other over a football game.

speaking of the Bible Belt, did you know that this region supposedly leads the nation in divorce rate?

just more evidence that the problems in our country run deeper than we'd like to think. it's not about changing votes. it's about changing hearts.

-apl
gracie03Amen!
spimmanmore likely a LSU/Bama thing
adamandjessesdad"Bible Belt states, in contrast, are dominated by fundamentalist Protestant denominations that proclaim the sanctity of marriage but generally don't want to estrange churchgoers who do divorce."
maucknotWhen people get obnoxious about sports, hatred can evolve.
tgatzajrI'm detecting some maturing wisdom here! Good thoughts!
emersonk78Wow. That is shocking. Kind of like story in Chronicle this morning about an 8 year old who shot and killed his dad and is being charged with "premeditated murder." What is this world coming to?
rica5219seee...THAT is why I'm not an Alabama fan!!!!
iheartshoesWow...that is unbelievable...seriously??!!
adamandjessesdadExactly: They'll preach against divorce, but won't enforce the Earthly consequences God has specified.
adamandjessesdadI wouldn't really suspect it to be a numbers thing, just a lack of courage, and an unwillingness to be severe (which they would see as being "unloving").
gone2neptuneWhy are the alabama fans even fighting?! they won the game! *disgruntled*
alexWe need to send Oscar Rogers to the Bible belt.
bossmayfieldanother reason on my list that I don't watch sports.
crazyttuguyI'm glad you "didn't call up the first Red Raider [you] could think of and drive to [my] house with a gun."
megsthanks for not calling me and killing me when tech won!
bioboIn the Bama/LSU situation, one newssource reported that a) one was a former boyfriend of the other's present girlfriend, b) both had guns, and c) "alcohol was involved". What a combination...
mreid72It's a 'Bama thing! Bama fans are notorious for fighting, killing, etc. after getting into arguments over their games.
laughing_eyesYou win! That takes the "strangest thing I heard today" award.
ladyinwaitingi think the divorce rates are higher in the south because people actually get married. the mentality in the north in regards to marriage is a lot different there. like people don't care if they get married and i've had some women from the north tell me they won't change their last names IF they get married...just an interesting thing to think about
nickomundoWell, as much as folks here in Alabama take football seriously, I think this is an extreme case. I don't think this is a good representation of fans of either Alabama or LSU. These were some nut jobs and not typical Southerners.

I agree about the divorce rate, though. Not just here in the south, but all over the country, divorce is a huge problem.
indianajoannaWhat the dump?! Thats crazy! I can't believe people get THAT worked up over a football game.
