We had 3 inches of snow in Baton Rouge! I was working at the hospital and about 5am we got the call it was snowing. So the nurses took turns running downstairs to go outside in the snow. By the time we got off of work it was a winter wonderland. Our power was off for a few hours, but our wood burning fireplace kept us warm. Thanks to Hurricane Gustav, we have lots of firewood.
We spent the last week unexpectedly in Mississippi. Ken's brother, Phillip passed away last Sunday morning. Please pray for his wife, kids, grandkids and especially his mother who is 87 years old.
On a lighter note...the dogs ate the carpet! Sophie, Maggie, and Lucy were in the bedroom during the funeral and ate Camilla's cord for her Chi and either scratched or ate the carpet at the doorway trying to get out! Ken replaced the carpet.
Andrew found out he can gradute from Southeastern Louisiana University in May with a degree in Finance if he takes 18 hours in the spring!!!!!!!! We are so excited for him!
So sorry to hear of Ken's brother passing. Yea for Andrew. Doesn't it seem like just yesterday they were little bitty people sitting in church? Wish him good luck from us.
We are leaving Saturday for a trip to Little Rock to see Ashley and Sam and Sophie. We've seen Ash and Sam, but haven't been there since the wedding in April. We will stop in West Monore and spend the night with Gail and Bruce...Camilla's parents.
Camilla called tonight and said I have a new Grand Dog! So now the Robertson/Collins/Walters family has 5 Schnauzers!!!!!!!!! Love those furry little faces.
We had a wonderful visit to Houston last week-end for the counselor meeting. Great to see all the Dry Creek group and all our former Park Forest members who have left Louisina for Texas. We Miss Ya'll!
Aww, a new baby. You'll be trying to steal it. Can't blame you either. Don't get me started on college kids w/pets again but, since they didn't ask, I won't get started. ;-)lol
Did you know you can go to Disneyworld or Disneyland free on your birthday in 2009? My daughther told me about it and I just went to Disney online and registered for my husband and myself. I am so excited! Just so happens we already had a trip planned to Orlando, Ocala and Tampa that very week! My birthday is February 13th and Ken's is February 12th. Ashley's is also on the 12th...on her dad's birthday. So I hope she and Sam will come with us!
ok, so ya'll are some of the lucky ones -- my family's birthdays (which i have already registered) are April, August, Sept., and Dec.! ouch -- guess we'll have to go FOUR times!! besides my FC reunion time in Feb.!! HA
Everything has been really falling into place :) Ash told you to save the date, right? Feb 21. We have a place, date, my dress, his suit, honeymoon plans... the only thing left to figure out are the guest list/invitations and decorations. Wish I had you and Ash here to walk me through all of it!
Guess that means y'all are planning to go to Lectures. I wanna go and meet up w/Sherry & Loretta, etc., but we'll have to see how the knee does. Just mention Disney to Jeff Go-Go Carr and he'll be right there with y'all. He goes to Disney at the drop of a hat. I have to see new things and places.
