God has not forsaken you. I don't know why He chose for this to happen. But He did. He chose the time, and place, and the man, for they are all under His power. I simply can't imagine the pain and loss you are experiencing right now, and I wish I had advice or reassuring words... I guess just know that God is still in control. He has chosen a path that hurt you and your family greatly, and for that I am truly sorry. Even so, He knows the anguish you are going through, and it may or may not become clear, in this lifetime, why He chose this path. But it will become clear one day. Sister, I know you feel abandoned, but draw close to those you love, and they will help you through this. Time will never erase it, but it will lessen the hurt you feel right now. I pray continously for you and your family.
