We made a boo-boo. Apparently, because of the windstorm back in the fall (when our county missed 5 days of school), today was a make-up day. Our calendar says we start back tomorrow. We didn't get a letter or a phone call with the change, so as far as we knew today was still part of winter break!

Could dear little Gavin have known and neglected to tell us that school started back up today??? (No, he really didn't know either). Why did I get such strange looks from everyone when I said we didn't start back till Tuesday???

squeaky	Sometimes ignorance is bliss. It's been on the news but I didn't see it till yesterday. My daughter knew and she works for the school system in the cafeteria. So they eveidently told them before they left. Why not the kids? Oh well. Oops! Go with the flow.
aleta	Doesn't that just make you feel like you have been beamed up to another planet? I hate it when that happens!

derbydi	And, we haven't been in town to listen to any news. Oh well. I think Gavin is enjoying his extra day. It did make me feel like a bad mom, but Bruce assures me that Gavin won't be scarred for life!
kasa_mom	So did he go for half a day or did you just decide to make it tomorrow?
joes_wife	:) We started back with our home school today, but our county does actually start tomorrow :)
bruski	Here's the weird thing...the school called about his absence at 11:00 am and left a message on my office answering machine! By the time we figured it out, it made no sense to take him for his last two classes. Strange, huh?

kingslh	Sorry to drive you crazy! I would never have notice it but not 5 seconds after Hunter saw that picture it was history. I even photoshop it out on the store's computer but that didn't work. So did Gavin stay home all day or did he go to school late? We heard it on the news. Leah ended up with just a half day today. Your family has been in our prayers during your recent loss.

sar_bear	I think they must have told someone b/c all the parents on the other blog I'm on were talking about it. But that is really funny!!! :)
derbydi	^I hope to find out how many absences they had today. We haven't had the TV on much and haven't watched the news. We were out of town several days due to the death in our family. Oh well, it's not that important in the scheme of things!
