You can 'google' The Eyeballing Game and it will come up. It is about 'finding centers' and 'lining up lines', and 'finding where rays intersect'. Man, I can't type well. I have to quit, now. Try the game.
lol. i didnt even know dad was there untill i called him last night and he said he was on the way home from the airport. ha! man i need to call them more! :)
12-10-08 Oh! Boo hoo! I did NOT make the above entry. bob must have donwe it when he put the kitty picture up there in the corner. I can not remember how he did it. HOPELESS! My printer is out of sorts today so I may never get the dread Christmas Newsletter in the mail. My task today is to learn to burn a CD so I can do my printing on Tom'sx computer. Duh! I have been trying to whip that for 3 years!
I spent most of the day preparing the summer issue of MAPLE COURT RAG AND DREAD CHRISTMAS NEWSLETTER. Now I find that I lack snail mail addresses for most of the wonderful ones that I want to send it to. How about it? You may know who you are.
We had .5 inch rain today--a record for this date. Can't believe it is June. The weather is more like early April, wet and cool.
What a month it has been. The trip to Florida fizzled out because Barbara Sanford wanted me here until here own mom could come. She was having a rough time recovering from the 'CROUP' and from overload in general. She seems better now but the price of tickets has doubled. (INSERT RUDE NOISE HERE). One good thing came of canceling--I wasn't grounded in Denver for an inspection of my airplane. Another good thing--all my volunteer jobs were covered by substitutes so I didn't tell anyone that I was available until the 2 weeks was almost gone. Boy oh boy, I really enjoyed puttering at home after Barbara went back to her house with her mom. Our little AMERICAN IDOL-POLK COUNTY STYLE STARS OF TOMORROW earned more than $500.00 for the food bank plus about 70-80 pounds of donated food. Two weeks before the "show" I was ready to cancel the whole thing but the prayers and actions of individuals in the congregation shook talent out of the bushes. During the show three new participants came up from the audience and were really a hit. . One little guy, really little, played the Star Wars Theme on his recorder. A WOU student from Nigeria, dressed in native clothing, sang praise songs in three different languages. Before the performance I was saying that I never, never want to do that again. Now I have a bunch of ideas for next year. After 78 years I am pleases to be allowed to be worship leader for Sunday morning service. Nice to have a pastor (James) from Texas.
Come visit, downy woodpeckers(6) red headed sapsucker, No nuthackets....(sigh, cry.)since that dang cat. Pleased it's suppose to warm up this wkend. Just keep reminding myself, April showers, bring May flowers. And snow too.
How unusual! (Joke) Our ESL class is taking a spring break and I am enjoying the vacation just like any other school kid. I started by making a list of all the useful stuff I COULD do with the time but will probably ignore. Then a list of things I could do if the sun shines (and it probably won't). I saw a Rufus Hummingbird this morning for the first time this year. Probably would have seen her sooner if this blankety-blank computer was closer to a window. Mostly I have been rabble rousing about a proposed jet boat race on the Willamette River that would close the river to private boaters for three days. Good for the economy?/bad for the environment?/unfair to families trying to enjoy their first summer 3 day weekend on the river?/unfair to the tax payers in three or four counties that will have every peace officer on duty at the accesses to the river and in the patrol boats?/etc. 38 of the 40 racers are from out of state.
The second thing I have been doing is trying to figure out how to use Fierefox for a Spanish Language dictionary, and how to use Google to create a calendar, and how to use Adobe Reader to create and send pdfs of my documents and posters and stuff. I made some fancy posters for the AMERICAN IDOL POLK COUNTY STYLE show that our outreach group is giving but other people can't open the attachments. .. This is the third year we have done this benefit for the food bank. It has been lots of fun and a few surprises along the way and it sure gets me out into the community making new acquaintances. Lots of work and I love it. I think that next year I will hire a circus! no-not really.
It looks like you are on top of more computer stuff than I know about! It's funny(?!)that the boat race is the sort of thing that governments of a local sort put on, and nobody really knows why. Some kid got killed a few years ago during one somewhere around here when the boat motor quit and it couldn't be steered. Unfortunately it was going 90 mph and ran right up on the bank. I couldn't force mtself to get too worked up about a race I wouldn't be going to. Environmentally, it is a waste of gas, and a few snails could get crushed if the boat ran up on the bank. If I wanted to use the river that day, I would just go a couple of miles up or down stream, preferrably out of the range of hearing. After all, it is a looong river! As a taxpayer, i wouldn't be any happier fronting something like this than I would be fronting a NACAR race. Rant concluded.
Working on that giant pumpkin paddle race, can't seem to find still waters locally, tualatin,Or seems to have an annually paddle going on there. 3 local growers so far, and one going into the park across the street. Compost brewing.
