Hey Jennifer! I just wondered....did you get my email? I have not heard from you. I know you are so busy. I just wanted to make sure that I still had your current email address. Hope you have fun at the game tonight. I love high school football games in the cold with a hot cup of coffee. We do not get to go to many these days. It is too cold for the little ones. :) The high here today is only 39. BRRRRRRR. :)
HOW CUTE! I knew that was Michaela when I saw the picture. She still has that cute little grin. :) Precious! Have I ever told you how much I love your kiddos!
We were doing our geography lesson and I asked Michaela what body of water was north of Africa and below Italy and Greece. After about a minute, she said "Mediterranean!" I grabbed her and gave her a hug. Then, Alexander was able to tell me about the Black Sea, the Bosporus Strait, and the significance of the Red Sea in bible times. On his map worksheet, just the bare edge of Africa was showing at the bottom and he asked, "Can I go ahead and label this since I know this is Africa?" That's my boy!
Later today, without me asking, Alexander unloaded and loaded the dishwasher and then started folding the laundry.
I was tired of the old post, so I thought I would talk about the weekend.
Michaela had a close soccer game Saturday.
It was 4-3.
After her game, we came home to go to the Sacred Selections fundraiser. It was so much fun! They did a fantastic job!
The auctions, silent and live, were a lot of fun. I bid on two items in the silent auction and got one. I got a hat and gloves for Michaela that were knitted by Terra Camp (Sanford).
On the live auctions, we bid on a beautiful hand-stitched quilt. For a while, it was between her and us. At one point, someone behind me bid $140, and so I went up to $150, and then I hear, "Jen, that was me that bid $140!" Oh, it was my husband. I told him you've got to tell me these things! Well, anyway, she ended up with it. Hmm, maybe I can borrow it sometime. :)
Another item that I bid on was a Dodge racing NASCAR jacket. I was going back and forth with this other guy, but it just got too much for me. He got it for $90. Like Mike said, my dad would be so proud if I got it. Ha Ha!
The last item that we bid on and got was a plate of Ms. Elaine's cinnamon rolls. Eric got it for $50. Those of you that have had Ms. Elaine's cinnamon rolls know it was worth every penny!
The kids had a great time and got their faces painted.:

After the fundraiser, the kids went to spend the night with their Nanaw. Eric and I went out to eat at Pei Wei and then we went and saw the movie, Fireproof. Some of the acting was pretty poor, but the story was very good. It is a movie about keeping your marriage together and strong. Eric and I are really surprised it even made it to the theater and not straight to DVD. It is full of scripture and using God's name in the proper way, instead of in vain.
Sunday, two good lessons about attitudes and having the right attitude. Sunday afternoon, took a nap, which is always nice. The rest of Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening hung out with the kiddos.
It was a wonderful day and for such a worthy cause. Of course you may borrow the quilt. Eric may only look at it, but you may borrow it....you see, I saw a little green tint to his eyes and got worried.....heeheeeheeeeheeee.
Hey Jennifer! Love you too! It was so nice seeing you here in Florida. Shawn said, "Is that Jennifer?" I was looking for a Jennifer that I attends where we worship now and when I saw you I was so excited. It was also nice seeing Eric, Macaela, and Alexander. I love the pics with their painted faces by the way. Please keep in touch and thanks for leaving me comments on my page, its always nice to hear from you.
That's the over arching theme I am getting from TOG users. There are certain elements of TOG that I love...the philosphy (Socratic dialogues) and especially the lapbooks. The thing is, I really love Sonlight and have gotten into a nice groove with it. If I didn't love SL so much, I think I'd like to try TOG. I just don't know if I can part with SL. I can always purchase the lapbooks and other elements of TOG seperately.
