Just returned from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert in Dallas. It was fantastic. Tons of music, lights, fire, and fireworks. All set to some great yuletide rock. The concert was 2 hours and 45 minutes long. The first half was the Lost Christmas Eve story and the second half were alot of TSO favorites including a fantastic Flight of the Bumblebee. Our tickets were on the side of the stage on the first level. Didn't have a front on view but could see the band close up and even feel the fire when the pyrotechnics started.
It has been a wonderful holiday filled with family, food and fun. Hope this holiday season finds you happy and healthy. And God bestows more of His blessings on you in 2009.
Terry Fator was great. He told us he would sign autographs and take pics w/us if we wanted to after the show. We only had to wait about 10 min., and we were close to the front of the line. But I doubt it took very long for everyone to get through.
At the beginning, he said we could take pictures even though they had told us we could not. I had even left our camera in the car, but B went and got it for us! He was great and so nice. I'm wondering how much Vegas tickets will be!
i know you thought i forgot to get you that recipe, but i just had to wait until i remembered to get it out at home...here you go:
Mix together any or all of the following:
Wheat Chex (or any chex), Crispix, pretzels, nuts, fritos, cheese nips. Put in several long shallow pans. Then mix together 2 sticks melted butter, 2 Tbsp. seasoned salt, 1 Tbsp. chili powder, 2 Tbsp. worcestershire, 2 tsp. red pepper, 1 Tbsp. garlic powder, then drizzle over the pans of cereal mixture and bake at 250 degrees stirring every 20 min. Hope you like it -- good luck and enjoy!
I keep coming back to see it but my dial up connection doesn't cooperate on these kinds of things. From what I can see, it looks cute. Hope you have a very merry Christmas.
Yay! I'm glad you all had such a wonderfully productive day! Weddings are a lot of work :) We just recently had one in our family (my niece) and all three of my daughters were in it and Joe performed the ceremony. There was a LOT to prepare for, so I totally understand what you all are experiencing. Great times though!
They changed my mother-in-law's medication for the Parkinsons a couple of days ago and already there is marked improvement. She is able to sit up straight and walk more easily. She had gone down so much, so fast maybe it was the first medication they were trying. I'm just so thankful that it looks like she is doing some better. She will be getting physical therapy for the next couple of weeks and then occupational therapy. Please keep praying that she continue to improve. My heart is so filled with thankfulness over the upward turn in her health
Kelly and I won't be at the nb holiday party tomorrow night because we are going over to take care of his mom. But I'm sure Andrea will do a great job representing the family. And she will be able to give us all the details of the night.
We had a great Thanksgiving!!! He broke out the rolling pin and pie pans and whipped out three pies (pumpkin, cherry, and pecan). All were good, but the pecan was fantastic and was gone by the time the first Thanksgiving meal was finished. All of our family was here + the great young man we will be adding the end of May. Alot of changes coming soon, so I treasure all of these family times. She will be graduating in 2 weeks and has an interview lined up in Memphis. She plans on moving there after she graduates. Then, of course, the wedding in May.
She will be a senior next year. In fact, this morning she was remarking that she is now the "senior" in vball workouts since the true seniors are not coming to work out any more.
Please keep his mom in your prayers. She has taken a turn for the worse over the last month with a diagnosis of Parkinsons and a fall and can now barely get around on her own. I am very concerned and wish I knew the very best way to help her.
I forget how good pecan pie is until Thanksgiving! It's amazing that we don't have it more often. Maybe that makes it extra special. Parkinsons is tough. I'm sorry about that.
