So I know all you Texas fans think you got cheated... But the fact of the matter is you didn't. I'm not saying I like the BCS, but sure, you beat OU, but you lost to Tech. If you had won that game, you'd have been ahead of OU. Perhaps if OU wouldn't have stompped Tech, you would have been there too. Whatever. If UT was going to play Missouri all us OU fans would have though we got cheated. The fact of the matter is no one did. The computers don't have a bias. Again, not saying I'm a fan of the BCS, but the stats are the stats. I hope somehow Texas and OU play again, who knows. All I have to say is Texas didn't get cheated. If they had beat Tech and this happened, then yes. But they didn't.
The better team was chosen!!!
(Sorry for any typos, I'm on my blackberry and will try to fix the boo-boos tomorrow when I get to my computer)
The computers also don't consider other things that should be, like how Texas only lost *technically* in the last moment, (even though the first half wasnt that good) but also that Texas beat OU in a better scenario than TT beat UT, and TT beating UT was incidental, whereas UT beating OU was just a fact.
TT beating UT was incidental? And a "technical" win? Both are insufficient arguments. TT beat UT. If UT had played better football then they would be going to the big 12. I didn't say it was fair, but I did say if your team won you wouldn't be complaining about an "unfair" system. UT should have played better football. Yes, OU lost the game, one game doesn't determine "the" best. A whole season does. OU had the better season. Another point, I liked how Stoops declined an opportunity to toot his team's horn on ESPN during the UT game, but Mac (poop) Brown did a phone interview during the OSU/OU game pointing out several times how his team beat OU... I like the high road. ;-)
Well if one game doesn't determine the best, why the added emphasis on the Tech game for Longhorn fans lol. The whole thing is terrible. I have a tough time agreeing that UT should have "played better football" when they beat OU. Doesn't matter much, the Horns will win their bowl game, while I think if Okie plays Florida it may be USC vs Oklahoma all over again..........lol
Got the 2 page paper done for last Thur. Got the 8-10 page paper due for last Friday. Took the 2 tests on Monday. Wrote the 8-10 page paper that I thought was only 5 for yesterday (although it only turned out to be 7.5 pages). Now I'm in Karnes City, Tx until this evening on a little trip. All I have to get ready for now are my oral and practical tests on Friday and Saturday.
Yesterday I was really busy and didn't get a chance to eat breakfast or lunch. When we got to Karnes City last night we went up the road and ate at Shorty's were I had a salad, 14oz ribeye, baked potato, and 2 slices of bread. It was good. Then when I got up this morning, we went next door from the day's inn to eat at Barth's. I had 2 breakfast tacos. They were awesome. Big fluffy tortillia with burrito stuff in them. When we ordered we expected little wataburger breakfast tacos, but these were huge! That's ok, I was still hungry from yesterday!
I'm getting ready to fly up to Colorado City, Tx. Then we'll be there for a few hours and fly back to Karnes City, pick 2 people up back here and then head home to Longview.
I'm in the process of writing a 9-10 page exegesis paper (due tomorrow) on Genesis 8:20-9:17..... It'll probably end up around 6 pages, but that's ok, last semester, just have to pass! Right mom, ;-)
Then... I have a 5 page research paper on some writer from the beginning through the renaissance period and a work he or she did... (what is the renaissance period?) Due Tue.
Then.... next Friday and Saturday I have my oral and practical test for my airframe and powerplant mechanic certificate. I am absolutely not looking forward to that as I must remember everything I've... supposedly... learned in the last 3.5 years.
Then..... I have some other stuff and my final finals!
I need to get off pleo and go finish writing... could I pay anyone for some writing help... joking... but seriously? ;-)
I never got back to you on your last reply... oops. The only Renaissance author I've done much work on is Shakespeare (and I did a LOT on him and his works...). The Prince by Machiavelli may be a decent choice for you because it's political. ? I dunno. Another sneaky page increasing trick it to use Courier New font. It's an official MLA font and quite a bit bigger than Times New Roman.
I'm not too worried about the length of the papers... as long as I turn something in they can't fail me. I've used Dotum (sp?) before... Teacher didn't like that! OOps!
do you mean he's wearing a prosthetic leg that is either attached to a shoe or has a shoe on it? if so, i'd guess it's either to match his other leg's wardrobe as closely as possible, or perhaps the sock actually helps in some way with the fit between the shoe and the leg.
This link takes you to the audio of The RAF talking down a pilot whom was suddenly blinded by a stroke, as he was flying at 5,500 feet. Very interesting. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7716703.stm
My sister in law has a prosthesis as well. She wears socks for many reasons...looks dumb to wear just one...wants to fit in...they sell them in pairs...and shoes are less likely to slide off...
I haven't "gotten out" of any. I have contested 2 which were dropped because of a lack of a charge. I also know several others who have gotten many dismissed because of a lack of a charge as well... they are how I first found out about this fallacy of the law.
Let me clarify... they were dropped because of a lack of jurisdiction. The court lacked jurisdiction because of a lack of a charge. See article 5 section 12 of the Texas Constitution.
No. There was no charge. There was no information or idictment at all. I think you might be confused as to what a charge is. A charge isn't a prosecuting attorney showing up and saying anything. A charge is a written document. I always, prior to the court date, contact the prosecuting attorney to request a copy. I need a copy so I can make a defense. Other wise, how can I make a defense if I don't know what I am charged with. The thing is, there has never been, and never will be, a charge because there is no law that I broke! So then all I have to do is go to the judge and point out there was no charge, I just agreed to appear in court by signing the ticket. It is no loop hole because there is no law. Since there is no law there is no basis for a charge.
