Sony is a "better" brand, but Craig researched reviews, and found good things about both - no major issues with either. The JVC comes with 50% more hard drive capacity than the Sony, plus a remote (for when you playback on the TV), and a shoulder strap - for the same price as the Sony.
Also, we liked it because while the Sony has a touch screen (which means fingerprints), the JVC has a cool menu selection feature that allows you to use a finger touch-pad to navigate the menu without getting the screen greasy.
The JVC is also smaller/sleeker. We liked the look of it better.
Anyway, I got the ok from Craig to post him singing La Bamba, and I'm sure I'll get Chris to agree for me to post something of him, so I'll do that soon. :)

Here are a few of the ultrasound pictures from Wednesday. The top two are profiles, the bottom-left is a close-up of her mouth and nose (amazing), and the bottom-right is her cute little foot.
And here is a picture Craig took of me last weekend. I was wearning maternity pants for the first time. :) I still am in between...mostly still wearing my regular clothes, but those pants were comfortable. :)
We have been enjoying the snow. Even though it makes getting around hard, it's so beautiful. Craig went out and stuck his arm in it last night, and it was up to his elbow on the porch.
It brings me back to living in Michigan...when it was normal to see snow outside.
Yesterday we went to Costco and got each other a ditigal video camera for Christmas. We wanted one before we had a baby, and decided (after much research on Craig's part...as always before we buy electronics) to go for it. It's really nice - we recorded our Guitar Hero band experience last night with Chris and Carrie, which included Craig singing La Bamba, and Chris singing Livin' on a Prayer. It was quite hilarious, and if I didn't think I'd get a beating for posting them, I'd let you all see them. :)
If I don't post again before then, I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas this week!
Do what you will with the video of Craig, but I happen to know that Chris might kill you if you post the one of him. ;) Haha. That was really fun, and interesting.
I tape recorded my bro-in-law singing Roxanne on that crazy game, then played it back to all of our friends in fastforward. Alvin the Chipmunk. Hil.ar.i.ous. Post it. Take a risk. Everybody is doing it!!! ;-)
Cute tummy pic! I'll have to scan one of mine and post it- it will make all you mommies to be much less self concious (sp?). AS for the video, I say post it! That's what they get for not being on Pleo-fair game!
i looked and looked at the nose/lip picture and I finally figured it out! What's all the stuff around it though? The nose and lips are in the middle...but that's the only thing that makes sense to me :-D she's gorgeous!
Thank you thank you thank you for watching my boy tonight. He had a great time and told us he ate at Baja Fresh. So you'll have to let me know what to transfer you. You're wonderful, thanks again. It was so nice not having to worry about him underfoot at the salon. Love you! You coming shopping with us tomorrow or do you have to work from home?
What a cute little belly! I love your hair too! We got your parent's Christmas card...I love the picture of you guys all jumping! How cool! Merry Christmas! Love you!
Chris won't let me drive in the snow :) I have been out only when he has been able to drive me. Once it got okay to drive last week, I got sick and was stuck home. At least I don't have to be anywhere!
We bought a new SLR camera, I have researched and researched, couldn't decide so I bought 2 to play with. Still having trouble deciding which one! I hate decisions like this!
Your box came just in time! We got it about an hour before we headed out! Thank you so much! Everything tasts delicious! Hope you all had a great holiday! love you!
Congrats! I was convinced we were having a boy, so when we were told she's a girl, I was also very shocked. Your shower will be more fun this way, and it really is so fun shopping for a girl. Congrats to you guys!
Ha! That's funny. For years we had 1 boy cousin, and 4 girls. Naturally, Davin was the apple of my grandmothers eye, and he was spoiled rotten by all of us girls. He spent lots of time bossing his siter though, and being SUPER protective of all the girls!
Linz, what a coincidence! I made some gift tags last night too! Great minds think alike huh?! I made several different ones. I have this stamp of a kitty wearing antlers and underneath it says 'Merry Kittymas'.....I thought it was hilarious but Tim just rolled his eyes and looked at me like I was crazy! HA!
Tomorrow is the big appointment to find out the gender of the baby (and check in on it)! He/she has been squirming like crazy this morning, maybe the baby's getting excited, too. :)
Hoping that the snow that's forecasted tomorrow, and the ice that's already on the roads won't keep us from going in - we have chains if needed!
Anyway - feel free to guess the gender! I think boy, but we'll see. :)
Hmmm, I don't have a guess...but I am really excited to find out! That is hilariuos that you actually have tire chains...I thought that was only in the movies!
Boy! And you better post ASAP since we won't see you at services, and have Carrie put it on facebook in case I can't get online, I can check that on my phone! I really hope the snow doesn't give you any trouble. What time is the appt?
She said it was funny because she thought it was only in movies...meaning she's never seen them used before in real life. Therefore, it's comical to her.
just to let you know, i was wrong about 3 gender guesses in the last couple of months (including my own). i was right for zero guesses. so, take my guess knowing that if i have a "feeling", i'm most likely wrong. :) can't wait to hear!
The Pummelo tasted good (much better than a grapefruit, but then again; I haven't tried grapefruit in a looong time). However, it was waaay too much work for the tiny bit of fruit.
We tried both ways of eating it - scooping it out and cutting/peeling it into segments. Both resulted in a mess, but hey - we tried something new. :)
Carrie also found me an African American Preemie Cabbage Patch doll at Target when she went a few days ago, so I didn't have to go out to Toys R Us or order online. It's a cute one!
Craig was able to feel the baby move the other day. I couldn't believe it! He only felt the really strong movement - the little kicks he couldn't feel yet.
This coming week might be the week of the maternity pants. Each week I tell myself that, and I just can't bring myself to wear them!
Tomorrow we are going to get our Christmas tree, and I'll finish decorating and cleaning the house. We are having a group meeting at our house on Sunday afternoon. I always get anxious when things are at our house, so I try to remind myself that no matter how squished people are, whether or not there was enough food, etc; everything is going to be fine.
I'm off to bed - it's waaay past my new bedtime (old bedtime, before pregnancy...was about an hour from now!).
Actually it's funny. We were at Costco tonight and we could have bought a nice digital camera there. It was about the same as the one we wanted but there was one feature it was missing that we really liked about the camera we found on Costco.com. We really thought hard about it....Buy now and have instant digital camera gratification? OR Go home and buy online and get what we really want?
You'd be proud, we're buying the one online we liked. I'll tell you more about it tomorrow. I'm excited to have a digital camera again!
Matt got so excited the first time Tyler kicked. I think it becomes exciting and real for the husband when they can enjoy feeling the movement too! How fun!
Only 7 more weeks and I'll be where you are right now and I'll get to feel the baby move - I'm soooooo excited! :) Rosie's right - you need to post some belly pictures. I took my first one last night even though there's not much to show. Have to start somewhere and Carrie said she wishes she would have taken them when she was pregnant with Caleb. I'm glad you found your black doll (not all black people are from Africa - so therefore not all are African American. Just sayin'). At my work we're adopting a family where there's a single mom and 5 kids. They've only modestly asked for shoes. Isn't that sweet and heartbreaking? I can't wait to go shopping for them.
i am NOT a fan of maternity pants. because i'm tall, the pants come in 2 sizes: 1)too short, and 2)too big, but long enough. it's lovely. and YAY for feeling baby kick! Reagan has gotten to feel her move, and my mom also has, when she was here last weekend! it's pretty exciting!
I loved switching to maternity because it felt better. Glad Craig got to feel so early, I think we were over halfway along before Bob ever got to feel it!
I knew that word was going to come back and bite me but I did not have the patience to find out how to spell it cause it was late and I just didn't care! I should have called you-I always think that about words I am not sure how to spell..."Linz would know how to spell that!" HA! Are you starting to show much? Can't wait to see a belly pic of you soon! Wish I could be there to make cards with you! Love ya!
Ahhh It was a long time ago when Ron and I were sharing Rochelle's first kicks! I boycotted maternity pants. I remember wearing my jeans unzipped at 30 something weeks!...ha back in the day when I was much much thinner.
I'm so excited for tomorrow!!!!!!!! EEK! Buy some chains for the car today cuz there's no way you're not going to the appt tomorrow! ;)
How are you going to tell the fam? Are you just going to call everyone? Since I live so far away do I get the first call? ;) J/k. Seriously, though. :) LOVE YOU!
Can't wait to find out if I'm going to have another niece or another nephew!
