So many changes happened in 2008, I can't imagine what's ahead for the coming year. In 08 Megan graduated, was accepted into Kent State's Honors program. Josh continued his degree at The Ohio State University in Chemical Engineering. David accepted a job at the Ohio State University Heart Center. We semi moved to Columbus. I left my job of nine years as middle school librarian. Started a new career in early education ( wow there is such a difference between middle schoolers and early preschoolers). We were able to enjoy Spring break as a family in Williamsburg.(who would have thought 3 different schools would have the same break). David and I celebrated 25 years of marriage. We, with the help of about 30 others had another successful year running Camp NOAH. The list could go on, but the most blessed event this year was the baptism of Joshua's girlfriend Sarah. God is so good. His blessings abound, and He answers prayers.

When we planned our 25th anniversary trip to Disney all the rooms in the park were booked. So we planned to stay in downtown Disney which would have been fine because we still could catch Disney transportation. Well what I didn't know was that my dear sweet hubby was calling Disney everyday in hopes of a room opening up in the park. It did and he booked it--on Friday as we were packing he says "I have to tell you something....., I canceled our room and booked us at the Contemporary Resort." It got even better when we checked in they said since it was our anniversary they upgraded our room to a castle view--so every night I went to sleep looking at Cinderella's castle. Then they gave us anniversary pins and a B-day pin for David and all the cast members wished us happy anniversary(and even some strangers), and then at every restaurant we were given complimentary desserts. It was certainly the trip of a million dreams. To all my Disney fan friends, we were able to ride Soarin' twice without too much of a wait.
Now Josh is done with his finals and he is sitting next to me talking to his sweetie Sarah, and I just got off the phone with Megan, she has two more finals and Grandma and Grandpa will pick her up on Friday. Then I will have 4 glorious weeks with my family all together under one roof. I have it all planned--favorite meals, Christmas movies every night, family games, lights at the Columbus Zoo.... but most importantly getting to worship together again. God is so good. |

Our weekend was fantastic. The kids planned a surprise anniversary party. Megan made a slide show to one of my favorite songs. (I watch it almost everyday and I still cry.) It was so good to be with all our friends and family. Sunday is a big B-day for my hubby so we are off to Disney World for a couple of days to celebrate. When we get home Josh will be done with this quarter and Megan will soon be done with her first semester.
Work is going well we are up to 13 2 1/2 year olds to 3 year olds. It can be a little crazy but I have already connected to those little guys. |

Tonight marks the 24th year 364th day we have been married. To celebrate our 25th David surprised me with theater tickets. I didn't know where we were going until we pulled up to the Ohio theater in downtown Columbus. On the marque "MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER"
It was so cool. I have been to several cities and their old theaters but I have never seen a more beautiful one until tonight. It beats the Civic of Akron, the Ohio and State of Cleveland, and the Palace of Canton. This just starts out week of celebrating. Tomorrow after work we leave for home. The whole family has not been together since Sept. 16. I am going to cherish every moment of this Thanksgiving weekend. YES FOR FAMILY TIME!!!!!!!
*****I just awoke and found a Tiffany and Co. bag on the dining room table--in it their signature silver heart bracelet. Oh the things he does for me. A silver bracelet for our silver. |
