1. I had to miss our Singing School cuz I was sick. I just ran to the Community Center and brougt food and went back home and got in bed. I was very sad.
2. Reese is still coughing with no other symptoms. It sounds TERRIBLE. Matt is taking her back to the Dr tomorrow.
3. My mom is very sick. Bronchial stuff. Pray for her. She is supposed to call dr again tomorrow.
4. Thanksgiving was great. We had lunch at my mom's sister's house. Then went to in-laws to help put up their tree.
5. My tree is up. Reese decorated it, so lots of ornaments are one her eye level! oh well...its cute.
6. Our church building is put back together now. We have pews. It turned out very nice and we are getting new curtains! We also took out the back 2 pews on each side so that everyone will be forced to move up!
7. Tuesday is his birthday...he is going to be 28!
8. My sweet husband brought us home donuts for breakfast this morning. What a yummy treat!
9. I know a HUGE secret that I can't tell until after next weekend.
10. Have a great Lord's Day. |

Last night contained two firsts for me.
1) I attended a Murder Mystery Dinner at the historic Kirby Hill House in Kountze. FUN. I didn't figure out who-dun-it, but I did figure out some parts.
2) After that, I went and rode-along with Matt for about an hour and a half. WOW. Thankfully it wasnt too busy. It was very interesting to see him in his element.
Reese spent the night with Poppa and Mim..of course they spoiled her. But she had fun.
Soccer is going well...just one more game! I think we are all getting tired of it. 10 weeks is alot for a 4/5 y/o team. They are all getting trophies this week. Cute.
Have a great week.

YAY! What a pretty morning...a beautiful Lord's Day!
We are about to go to worship in our church building with no pews, pigtail lights and no ceiling tiles (or atleast that's how it was on Wednesday)! BUT, no worries, God will be in our midst no matter the state of the building. Isn't that simply amazing. We are under construction from hurricane Ike. We lost our roof and several patches of ceiling. We also had sheetrock damage in the classroom area. We are all going to bring lawn chairs to sit in.
Parenting Question: Reese did not score any goals at her soccer game yesterday and was very upset! She cried her eyes out. How can I teach her to be a good loser? She wears her heart on her sleeve and was just upset, but at the same time I don't want her to cry and act out just because she didn't do well. HELP???
This is the first time we've experienced this. She has scored atleast one goal at every other game. She doesn't act like that when she loses board games. We never 'let her win' for this very reason. Any advice would be appreciated. This website is a good resource for this kind of thing.

....has improved dramatically since the first game! We don't keep score...but (we won)...ssshhh.
Reese is doing so well. She has really surprised us with this talent. We are very proud of her. We didn't think she would like soccer at all and she LOVES it. She scored 5 goals today!
Not much else is going on around here. We had a garage sale for our school and raised over $700! We are going to try to get new playground equipment. Now to find volunteers to build it.
Prayer request: My poor daddy is working 7-12s at night and he's tired. Pray that ExxonMobil gets back online asap so he can get a day off. And my aunt Tammy is going in for surgery at the end of the month.
That's all I have...hope you have a blessed Lord's day tomorrow. |
